Hope Springs Eternal

No Labels is a political organization that has been working to generate bi-partisan cooperation in Washington since 2010. The good news is that they have made significant progress over that time. The bad news is there is still a long way to go. A good sign of continuing progress, however, was their recent announcement of two additional national leaders, Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) and Max Miller (R-OH). They join a solid number of No Labels-affiliated politicians in Washington who are trying to bridge the gap between the two parties. While progress is being made, it's usually behind the scenes and far slower than it should be. It was very refreshing to hear these two men from "opposing" parties publicly speak highly of each other. They went on to describe ongoing efforts by many Senators and House members who are working hard to break the deadlock over the government shutdown. They said that the biggest barrier is a lack of trust on both sides and that they are trying to re-establish some level of trust again. It is good to know that all is not lost and that some in DC are still trying to find solutions. I dearly hope they succeed
