Waste and Abuse Not Enough

The most dangerous issue we face today is the growing national debt. It endangers our economy and our national security. We owe over $36 trillion, and both Republicans and Democrats are to blame for this catastrophe. While some in Washington are trying to stop this runaway train, they face gale force winds. Republicans passed a House bill that would increase the debt by $2.7 trillion over the next 10 years. Predictably, the Democrats are severely criticizing the Republican plan, and it deserves it. However, they attack most of the spending cuts, offer few solutions of their own and were hypocritically silent while Biden increased the debt over $6 trillion, including $1.8 trillion in 2024. There are potential solutions, but no one seems brave enough to pursue them. We have a spending problem, not a taxing problem. To stop our swelling deficits, some good things will have to go because we cannot afford them all. There is simply not enough "waste and abuse" to get the job done. While we probably need to increase some taxes, we also need to reform "untouchable" entitlements, including Social Security. Medicare, and Medicaid. Otherwise, our grandkids will suffer the bitter consequences of our selfish neglect
